Many business owners are worried about the recent sudden changes that Google has made to Google Places, but the good news is that Google Plus Local is really a great change. The change allows customers to leave much more comprehensive reviews than the old Google Places allowed. The new review system provides much more detail and the scoring system allows for much more accurate reviews. Best of all, Google has made the process of leaving reviews even easier, even for people who are not familiar with the system. Here are 5 steps for setting up a review in Google Plus Local for someone who doesn’t even have an account yet.
Create A Google Plus account.
Visit the Google Plus Local page of the business you want to review.
From the Google Plus home page you simply find the “Local” tab located on the vertical tab menu located on the left hand side of the screen. From the Google Plus Local page, search for the business you want to review. Once you are on the local business page there is a button in the upper right hand corner of the screen that says “Write a Review”.
Rate the business with Zagat scale, the new Google Plus Local rating system
Google has implemented the Zagat scale for rating all places. You will be asked to rate the business from 0-3 on several different factors. The ratings are then calculated with a special Zagat scale formula to determine the overall score for the business. The score is even broken down into different categories so customers can see the strengths and weaknesses of a business.
Write a business review
Beneath the Zagat scale rating section is an area to leave your review about the business. You should includes lots of details and even specific tips and suggestions you would recommend to potential customers. You should always make sure to proof read your review when you are done to make sure there aren’t any typos or mistakes because your review will be more credible if you write correctly.
Publish your Google Plus Local business review
Once you have completed and edited your review and you are comfortable with the rating, it is time to publish the review. Simply click the “publish” button and your review will be live. Remember that your review is tied to your Google Plus profile and anyone who sees the review can see your profile, including the business.
